Peru is a land rich in breathtaking landscapes, fascinating history, and vibrant culture. The journey from the ancient ruins of Machu Picchu to the bustling streets of Lima is not just a trip; it’s an adventure filled with unique experiences. Join Cindy and Curt as they navigate part of this incredible country, discovering stunning sights, delicious cuisine, and unforgettable moments.
Uncovering Lima's History in the Catacombs and Malecon

Lima offers more than just culinary delights (which are amazing); it also has a deep-rooted history waiting to be explored. Cindy and Curt took a guided tour of the catacombs beneath the San Francisco Monastery, where they were captivated by the intricate architecture and rich history. The catacombs hold the remains of an estimated 25,000 individuals, offering a glimpse into the city's past that was both eerie and fascinating.
Later, they strolled along the Malecon, a beautiful promenade overlooking the Pacific Ocean. With stunning views, they enjoyed watching the sunset while reflecting on their experiences, feeling grateful for their journey through Peru.

Adding to their daring side, Cindy and Curt also paraglided high above the beach of Lima. This was a very thrilling experience for both.
Discovering Machu Picchu
No visit to Peru is complete without experiencing Machu Picchu, the iconic Incan citadel set high in the Andes. Cindy and Curt took a scenic train ride from Cusco to Aguas Calientes, where they were greeted with spectacular views of the ancient ruins, which date back to the 15th century.

Adventure Skylodge in the Sacred Valley
For a dose of thrill, the Adventure Skylodge in the Sacred Valley was a fantastic choice. Suspended 400 meters above the ground, these transparent pods offer an incredible view of the stunning landscape below. Cindy and Curt spent the night in one of these unique accommodations, savoring a gourmet dinner with panoramic views that made it a memorable experience.
Reaching the Skylodge was an adventure in itself. With safety harnesses and expert guides, they navigated the via ferrata—a climbing route that required both strength and courage. The adrenaline rush they felt as they ascended the cliffs was unparalleled, making it a highlight of their trip.
A Journey Worth Taking
Cindy and Curt's adventure in Peru was filled with enriching experiences, from the awe-inspiring ruins of Machu Picchu to the vibrant culinary scene in Lima. The breathtaking landscapes, the warmth of the local people, and the excitement of adventure made their trip truly special.
